Key Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Architectural methods and design
    • rchitectural designs
    • echnical documentation- based on agreed architectural methods and design standards
  2. Effort and impact analysis
    • Evaluate the impact of proposed changes on existing software and architecture
    • Effort associated with implementing IT solutions
    • Address complex issues and recommend appropriate solutions
  3. Continuous improvement
    • Contributing to the maintenance, development, and on-going improvement of software architecture
    • Keep up with developments in the retail industry with respect to relevant applications systems and technologies
  4. Conduct code reviews
    • Perform effective software analysis reviews making recommendations to developers using the current application development standards as a guideline
  5. Evaluating and contribute to project and vendor solutions
    • Recommend and assess appropriate software solutions in line with technology fit from an end-to-end architectural perspective

  • Application development methodology and software development lifecycle processes
  • Software analysis and design
  • In depth knowledge of Cloud and on-premises solutions
  • In depth knowledge of scaling applications and solutions
  • In depth knowledge designing resilient Software solutions
  • In depth knowledge of data modelling and data architecture
  • Identifying key technological products and services to effectively deliver solutions
  • Articulate and communicate technical design
Minimum Requirements
  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience with Applications Development
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in application design and development methodologies
  • Working experience in the retail sector and the design and implementation of retail applications and solutions
  • A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
