Senior DevOps Support Analyst

Cape Town (Hybrid)
Key Roles and Responsibilities

Task Delivery

  • Successful project requirement delivery
  • Ensure tasks are completed on time as estimated (within acceptable/agreed timeframes)
  • Ensure tasks are logged into Task management
  • Provide accurate time logging and estimations

Reduce Manual Processes

  • Create scripts to automate
  • Ensure systems provide insights, analytics and insights

Design and implement: QA, UAT and Prod Environments

  • Ensure QA, UAT and Prod environments are up and running and available to key stakeholders

Documentation

  • Document and define SOPs
  • Reporting on incidents and escalations

Customer Relations

  • Understanding project requirements and KPI
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations
  • Co-ordination and communication within the team and customers

Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis

  • Establish root cause
  • Define and Implement preventative measures

QA Process

  • Team QA review process
  • Checking SQL code when packaging releases to ensure that the correct SQL statement
  • Rotational peer review QA
Core Skills/Competencies

Mandatory Technical Skills / Abilities required to do the Job

  • Experience with Windows and Linux operation systems
  • Experience working with SQL
  • Experience with Application Containerization (e.g. Docker)
  • Process Automation/Continuous integration (Azure)
  • Experience with setting up and maintaining retail hardware (printers, cash drawers, )
  • Experience with source control tools and technologies
  • Experience with building and managing secure environments
  • Experience with networking infrastructure
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Bash, Python, SQL, PowerShell, Batch, VBScript)
Minimum Requirements
  • Matric or equivalent
  • An IT qualification would be
  • DevOps certification would be
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a DevOps environment
  • A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience working with SQL
  • Experience within a retail environment is
  • Exposure to managing and deploying large-scale, distributed enterprise
